With just a few weeks of skiing at some of our Alberta resorts remaining, we hope that you are able to get out for a few more turns. If you have hung up your skis already, we wish you the very best for Summer!
Spring Fling
Wow – what an incredible weekend of perfect conditions and fantastic sessions! We had members from across the region (and country) come together to celebrate Spring and continue to develop their skills, on what many described as their best days of the season.
A huge thanks goes out to Marmot Basin and all our sponsors, who provided exceptional support for our event: Gear Up Sports, Bear Street Outfitters, Blizzard Skis, Sundance Ski Shop and Hoodlums! We gave away some fantastic prizes to our teams!
CSIA Alberta Hall of Fame – Colin Borrow
The CSIA Alberta region is pleased to announce that Colin Borrow has been inducted to the Alberta Hall of Fame for 2026! Colin stared his career at Sunshine Village and is currently the Director of Skiing at Marmot Basin. Along his journey he chased winter around the globe, competed in the Powder 8s, and left an impression everywhere he went.
Even more significantly for the CSIA he has also volunteered an immense amount to time build our organization at both the National and Regional level. Colin, thanks for all you have done for us and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
Congratulations to our NEW level 4s!
Luke Partridge, Darren May and Aidan Cory all completed their CSIA Level 4 this winter. We are so pleased for them, and look forward to seeing them work with many more of our members going forward!
Happy Retirement, Karen!
After an incredible 25 years of service, we are thrilled to congratulate Karen Kjorven on her well‑earned retirement. Throughout a quarter century of dedication, Karen has supported Alberta members with professionalism, care, and an unwavering commitment through the many evolutions of the CSIA—helping shape not only the organization, but the people within it as well.
On behalf of the Alberta Board and the entire region, we extend a massive thank you to Karen for her years of service, leadership, and steady presence. Her contributions have left a lasting impact, and she will be deeply missed. We wish Karen nothing but happiness, adventure, and fulfillment in this next exciting chapter.
