Meet the Board! Get to know the people who help guide our organization in the Atlantic Region.

Cheryl McMurtrie – Director at Large

I am a course conductor and Snow Sports Sports School Director at Sugarloaf Park in Campbellton. This is my third season at Sugarloaf having spent six years previous to that at Mont-Sainte-Anne as a full-time instructor and supervisor. I have been a member of the board for six years and currently serve as your Chairperson. I also currently sit on the Women in Skiing committee.

Dave McTimoney – NS Representative

I hold a CSIA Level 2 certification and have many years of experience, including multiple part-time seasons at Crabbe Mountain and 11 full-time seasons at Lake Louise from 2006 to 2017. I’m married to Rayeanne and part of a blended family with seven adult children. After a rewarding career as an applied psychologist, I’m now semi-retired and work part-time in HR as well as organizational advisory in the retail industry. In my free time, I enjoy travel, boating, hiking, and of course, chasing the Level 3!

Laura Clarke – Director at Large

My instructing career began as a snow school assistant at Crabbe Mountain, before I was old enough to take my Level 1. I’m now a Level 2 instructor at Poley Mountain and working toward my Level 3, while serving my first year on the Board as Vice Chair and Communications Lead. Off the slopes, I work for Parks Canada, focusing on protecting natural ecosystems and wildlife. In my free time, you’ll also find me hiking, mountain biking, or discovering new ways to enjoy the outdoors.

Matt Christie – Director at Large

I’m now a fully certified Level 3 ski instructor, having recently achieved the Level 3 Teach. I’ve been instructing for the past three years at Wentworth. I’m in my second year on the board, currently focusing on the Branding pillar. When I’m not on the slopes, you can find me on the water boating and racing. I also work as a yacht broker with Sunnybrook Yachts

Matt Rideout – NB Representative

I’m the NB Rep on the CSIA Atlantic Board of Directors – serving as Programs, Products & Events Lead, and Snow School Director at Poley Mountain for the past three years.  I have been teaching full time for 20+ years now and enjoying every minute of it. I still teach at least 10 hours of beginner lessons each week because it keeps me connected to why I started this journey in the first place

Priya Jain – PEI Representative

I am serving my first year on the Board as the representative for PEI. I am a Level 1 ski instructor at Mark Arendz Ski Park in Brookvale and currently serve on the Communications Committee. In my professional life, I am training to become a French teacher. When the ski season is over, you’ll find me paddleboarding, golfing, and enjoying the beach!

Sarah Pardy – Director at Large

My name is Sarah Pardy, and I am a Level 1 ski and snowboard instructor at Smokey Mountain in Labrador. My passion is teaching, and sharing the love of riding. I plan to complete my coaching courses as well as become a course conductor someday. I currently serve as Secretary for the CSIA Atlantic Board. When I’m not on snow, I’m chasing music or activity wherever I can!

Sherry Dunsworth – NL Representative

Sherry is a semi-retired structural geologist, still doing some consulting work and running a rock shop with her husband in Pasadena, NL. She began skiing in her early 40’s at Marble Mountain, NL, completed her CSIA Level 1 and Level 2, and currently teaches skiing at Marble Mountain in the winter, and enjoys sailing, kayaking and motorcycling in the summer months. Sherry has been a member of the CSIA Atlantic Region board for a total of 6 years, serving as both NL Representative and Treasurer.

Spring skiing is here! Make those last turns count!
