WHAT’S NEW IN BC/YUKON?

by | Apr 10, 2025 | Regional Updates

It’s that time of year when as the sun shines and the snow melts, we try to live in denial and get that extra turn in knowing the season will soon be over. When asking people on how their season has been, the standard reply has been, “better than last year.” And it has been a good year. We had over 500 members participate in regional events across BC/Yukon. There were some great events starting with Ignition Days and continuing with Northern Fest, Project Y, City Lights, WIS events and the new Big Mountain Pro Day. All were well attended with members having an amazing time developing their skills in a fun and positive atmosphere.

But the season is not over yet with Spring Fling set to hit the slopes in April. Spots for Whistler on April 26/27 are selling out quickly so register today.

It was also a busy year for courses. Welcome to all our new Level 1’s and a big shout out to all members that participated in a course this season to continue their professional development. Congratulations to all those that were successful on their journey, and best of luck to those doing spring exams.

With spring coming up, here’s this month’s question. What’s the difference between a tricyclist and a well-dressed mountain biker?

  • Send your answer to contests@snowprobc.com for a chance to win a prize. (Winner drawn at random from entries, must be a current CSIA member residing in BC or the Yukon to participate).
  • The answer to last month’s question of why are mountains so funny was, “because they are hill areas.” Congratulations to Kate, whose name was randomly drawn for a prize.
