Rob Chadwick Named New Atlantic TEC Representative

We are excited to announce Rob Chadwick as the new Atlantic Representative on the Technical Education Committee (TEC)!

The TEC is a standing committee established by the CSIA National Board that helps shape ski technique, teaching methodology, educational programming, certification standards, and the ongoing development of the CSIA.

Drawing on decades of experience in ski instruction and leadership, Rob will bring a valuable Atlantic perspective to the future of technical education within the CSIA.

Rob Chadwick is a CSIA Level 4 Instructor, Level 3 Course Conductor, ACA-CSC (PL) with over three decades of technical leadership experience across Canada, New Zealand, and Japan. Rob has contributed to the Atlantic region’s ski community as a course conductor and U10 race coach at Martock. Outside of the ski industry, he is a highly credentialed Senior Program Manager (PMP, PMI-ACP, PSM I) with a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics.

We recently spoke with Rob about his new role on the TEC and what he is most looking forward to as he begins this exciting new chapter.

What motivated you to become involved with the Technical Education Committee?

My motivation stems from a desire to bridge the gap between technical excellence on the snow and modern pedagogy off the snow. I have seen firsthand how critical clear, structured curriculum design is to the success of our instructors and their students. I wanted to step up to the TEC to offer my professional expertise in program strategy and product development. Evolving our national standards requires a structured, data-driven, and student-centered approach. I am highly motivated to help shape a progressive technical path forward that keeps the CSIA at the forefront of ski education.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role as the Atlantic representative?

I am most looking forward to giving the Atlantic region a strong, clear, and strategically minded voice at the national table. Our region has unique training environments, passionate instructors, and a distinct operational landscape. I am eager to champion our local perspectives while ensuring that national curriculum updates filter back down to our grassroots members seamlessly. Additionally, I am incredibly excited to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of top-tier technical minds from across the country, tackling complex instructional challenges, removing roadblocks, and working toward a shared, modern vision for Canadian ski instruction.

How do you hope your involvement on the committee will support your professional growth and teaching practice?

From a professional growth standpoint, serving on the TEC provides a high-level opportunity to apply my corporate governance and agile coaching skills within a sports organization I care deeply about, challenging me to keep my strategic planning sharp. From a teaching practice perspective, there is no better way to refine my own on-snow delivery than by immersing myself in the core mechanics of curriculum design and product development. Being on the cutting edge of national technical shifts will directly elevate how I mentor candidates and conduct courses in the Atlantic region. It keeps my personal teaching methodology dynamic and aligned with where the sport is heading.

We are thrilled to have Rob representing the Atlantic region on the TEC and we wish him success in this new role.
