
The Canadian Interski Team brings together top instructors from across the country. With diverse backgrounds and shared passion, they represent top professional standards of Canadian ski instruction as they prepare for Interski Vail 2027, the world’s leading international snowsports education congress. The team will be representing Canada along with the rest of the Canadian delegation, our sisters’ associations, CASI, CANSI and CADS.

ROLAND SEARLE | LAKE LOUISE SKI RESORT, AB

What shaped your career in skiing?
Passing my CSIA Level 4 at 21 was a shock. At the time, it felt like reaching the peak of the profession.
What has been your best ski day?
The first day of training with the Interski team. The energy was strong, the group clicked, and everyone improved together.
Who inspires you?
Norm Kreutz, Warren Jobbit, and Pat Lynch. They helped me believe in myself, simplify my teaching, and challenge my understanding of skiing.
What obstacles have you faced?
Teaching was my biggest challenge. Multiple exam setbacks taught me humility, perseverance, and resilience.
CHLOÉ SIGOUIN | WHISTLER BLACKCOMB, BC

What shaped your career in skiing?
Growing up in ski racing inspired me to stay connected to the sport. Seeking adventure, I moved from Ottawa to BC and completed my CSIA Level 3.
What has been your best ski day?
Recent days skiing with my family; blue skies, grippy groomers, and great company, no matter the temperature.
Who inspires you?
My husband, Sjoerd. He taught me to remain a student of the sport and to set meaningful goals.
What obstacles have you faced?
Balancing part-time ski instruction with other commitments requires focus, efficiency, and being intentional on snow.
ALI HUNTER |CRAIGLEITH SKI CLUB, ON

What shaped your career in skiing?
At 14, qualifying for the Topolino international race in Italy showed me how skiing connects people worldwide.
What has been your best ski day?
The moments shared with friends, family, and teammates, especially in the mountains.
Who inspires you?
My close friend Jenn Warren, for her kindness, humility, and compassion.
What obstacles have you faced?
I keep my goals realistic and remind myself that progress isn’t linear it’s a lifelong journey supported by community.
FRED LÉPINE |BROMONT MONTAGNE D’EXPÉRIENCES, QC

What shaped your career in skiing?
Watching Level 4 instructors ski as a child felt like magic. Conversations with my father about skiing and Interski sparked a lifelong dream.
What has been your best ski day?
Skiing at Sunshine Village during my first Interski selection, surrounded by the Canadian Rockies.
Who inspires you?
My father, mentors, colleagues, and teammates each encounter helped me grow as an instructor and as a person.
What obstacles have you faced?
Teaching in English became an opportunity to refine my lessons and rely more on clear demonstrations and non-verbal communication.
