By Betsy Linnell – CSIA Program Manager

Dear CSIA Member,
With the 2024–2025 season now behind us, the team and I would like to thank you for a fantastic year, share a few key updates, and look ahead to what’s coming in 2025–2026.
Thank You!
On behalf of the entire CSIA-AMSC team, thank you. As a member-based, not-for-profit organization, you—our members—are the foundation of our success. As outlined in our updated Strategic Plan, shared this past season, our mission defines what success means to us:
“The CSIA sets Canada’s standard for the profession of ski teaching through innovative training and certification programs, contributing to the safety and growth of the industry and the enjoyment of skiing for everyone.“
By renewing your membership, working in snow schools, pursuing training through Pro Days and Camps, or pushing yourself to achieve the next level of certification, you are helping elevate the profession of ski instruction, growing our industry, and sharing your passion for skiing.
In May, the Operations Team spent three days in Montreal reviewing the season’s outcomes—key statistics, program results, and overall performance. We looked closely at what went well, what could be improved, and how far we’ve come as an organization in the past year.
Looking Ahead to 2025–2026
We’re building on this momentum with a strong focus on continued improvement and innovation. Here’s what you can look forward to in the coming season:
- National Programs Calendar: Key dates are set, and locations will be finalized in the coming weeks.
- Refined Canadian Teaching Approach: Simplified, memorable, and easier to apply on snow.
- Updated Level 1 & 2 Teaching Resources: Clear, step-by-step outlines for delivering great lessons.
- Enhanced Technical Resources: Focus on the “link” or “transition” between turns.
- New Standards Videos: For Level 1 and Level 4.
- Revamped Trainer Development: Updated content and evaluation criteria.
- New Pro Days:
- All-Mountain Pro Day
- Assessment and Development Pro Day
- First Aid Training: In partnership with the Canadian Ski Patrol (CSC), fulfilling ISIA Stamp requirements.
Interski 2027 – Canada’s Preparation Begins
With the team selected for Interski 2027 in Vail, we’re excited to involve course conductors and members as we prepare to represent Canada on the world stage.
We’re finalizing a two-year plan to guide the team’s development, set success indicators. As a world leader in ski education, we are setting targets to ensure that the team is an effective tool to achieve our goals as an organization. That means continuing with our focus on quality, consistency and standards. As a member, you will be exposed to the same themes for ski technique and teaching methodology through all CSIA programming. Preparation for the event will be a shared experience as we move forward together.
