CELEBRATING WOMEN IN SKIING WITH THE CSIA

by | Mar 12, 2026 | Fresh Off the Slopes

Every March 8, the CSIA proudly celebrates International Women’s Day and recognizes the incredible women in our community who share their passion for skiing and continue to help grow the sport we all love.

This season has already been a strong one for women’s programming. To date, the CSIA has hosted 25 Women in Skiing Pro Days, welcoming 286 participants across the country. This represents a 42 percent increase in participation compared with last season, highlighting the growing momentum and enthusiasm for women focused events within our community.

Women in Skiing Summit

From March 3 to 5, passionate skiers gathered in Collingwood for the Women in Skiing Summit, an inspiring event that brought together participants from across Ontario, from other parts of Canada, and even friends from the United States.

Over three memorable days, participants focused on developing their skills, skiing together, and stepping outside their comfort zones on the hill. What made this event truly special was the atmosphere that formed throughout the summit. Encouragement, support, and camaraderie quickly became the foundation of the experience. New friendships were built, confidence grew, and each participant left the event stronger than when they arrived.

The on-snow sessions were led by an exceptional team of Level Four female course conductors: Ali Hunter, Heather Robertson, Sarah Howard, Yoshi Watanabe and Victoria Wight. Their expertise, leadership, and passion for teaching created an environment where high level learning met encouragement and empowerment. Each run offered an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves while feeling supported by both their coaches and their peers.

A special thank you goes to HEAD for joining the summit and presenting the latest innovations in ski technology. Their support helped enrich the experience and added another valuable learning opportunity for participants.

The Women in Skiing Summit was more than just an event on the slopes. It was a celebration of women supporting women, building skills, and strengthening the skiing community.
