WRAP-UP FROM THE EASTERN AND WESTERN CONGRESS AND TRADESHOWS

Over the past month, our team had the opportunity to attend both the Canada West Ski Areas Association Conference and the Eastern Canada Ski Areas Conference and Tradeshow. These events allowed us to connect with the industry and strengthen our relationships with partners across the country.

We’d like to thank the Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA), the Ontario Ski Areas Association (OSRA), the Association of Quebec Ski Areas (ASSQ), and the Atlantic Snow Resorts Association (ASRA), for being such wonderful hosts and for organizing outstanding events.

In the West, members of our staff team and regional committee representatives congregated with resort and industry stakeholders for the CSWAA Spring Conference in Penticton, BC. We attended in partnership with CSP (Canadian Ski Patrol) and CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) with a highly visible booth and presence at the Trade Show. This was a great way to participate collectively and share our work. The three-day event included a keynote by Hugh Culver on “Why Little Steps are the Path to Big Rewards”, industry updates and opportunities to learn about best practices. There were also lots of networking opportunities to connect with some of our key contacts.

In the East, we had a large staff team in attendance and were joined by our Quebec committee. We hosted a booth at the tradeshow and attended several insightful talks and conferences, covering topics such as the impact of the economy on the industry, advances in AI, innovation in snowsports, building a sustainable future, and more. We also connected with snow school directors and resort owners to strengthen relationships and work toward greater synergy within the industry.

We were also proud to sponsor a well-received session on the future of skiing and snowboarding, led by Paul Pinchbeck from the Canadian Ski Council. The presentation focused on the challenges and growth opportunities within the winter sports industry, supported by case studies and actionable solutions. This topic felt especially relevant to our organization, as every instructor plays a key role in shaping the future and driving the growth of the ski industry.
