WHAT’S NEW IN BC/YUKON?

It was a little late but, Mother Nature brought us the best Christmas present with a fresh blanket of snow. Hope fully everyone found some time to enjoy the festive season, make some great turns and are excited for the new year.

Your BC/Yukon Regional Board

First of all, a big thank you to departing board members – Amy McCarthy and Jesse Wright – for all their hard work, dedication and passion. We wish you all the best and hope you have a great season.

We are excited to welcome Jen Duncan and Evan Taylor to the Board. Both Jen and Evan bring a wealth of experience and a great passion for ski teaching that complement the existing board. For more information about the current board, see the About us page on the website.

Extended Deadline for Scholarships

Deadline for scholarship applications has been extended to February 15, 2026. If have you signed up for a course, or are planning to attend a course this season, send in your application.

Bursary Programs

Looking for some funding to help with your professional development? We have expanded the Bursary program to include more opportunities for financial aid. This season, the CSIA BC/Yukon Region is offering 6 Regional Bursaries, WIS Bursaries and additional funding through our Community Chest program. See website under Funding tab for details.

If you are planning on doing a course this season and need financial assistance, APPLY. Deadline for bursary applications is February 28, 2026.

Events

The weather may have dampened participants, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of those that attended Ignition Day events across the region. It was a great way to start the season and shake off the rust with some fun, smiles and great experiences.

We hope to see you at our upcoming events including: Northern Festival at Hudson Bay Mountain, City/Island Lights, WIS Pro Day (International Women’s Day, March 8) and the Big Mountain Pro Days happening across the region. The re-vamped Spring Fling will be open for registration shortly.
