GLOBAL TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

We hope you’re enjoying sunny skies or snowy slopes—wherever your summer adventures take you!

Canada’s unique four-season climate makes us appreciate winter even more because it can feel all too short. That is why the CSIA is committed to maintaining the highest standards for our instructors, creating opportunities for them to work abroad and extend their seasons while continuing to enjoy snowy days.

Our standards are proven and recognized international by International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA), Interski and International Association of Education in Science and Snowsports (IAESS). This offers our members opportunity for international recognition of certification and therefore employment opportunities across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, etc.

As a Member of the International Ski Instructors’ Association (ISIA), the CSIA has the sole authority in Canada to issue any ISIA recognition to its qualified members. To obtain the stamp, a member must have a minimum of 320 additional hours of Canadian Education and must have:

-CSIA Level 3 Certification or other recognized Canadian organization certifications
-Avalanche Skills Training (AST), and

Valid First Aid Certification (from a recognized organization such as Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, etc.)

The additional hours of training that make up 320 hours of Canadian education, must be completed through the CSIA or one of the following organizations: ACA/CSCF, CASI, CANSI, CADS, CSGA or CFSA.

In addition to our international recognition, we collaborate with national partners to support and grow the industry, including Alpine Canada, the Canadian Ski Council, the Québec Ski Area Association, the Atlantic Snow Resorts Association, the Ontario Snow Resorts Association, the Canada West Ski Areas Association, the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors, the Canadian Snowsports Association, the Canadian Ski Patrol, the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors, and Canadian Adaptive Snowsports.
